First with the single Jumpin 'Jack Flash, then the album Beggars Banquet. With that lp the best period in the history of the band starts. Went Besides the classics Sympathy For The Devil and Street Fighting Man also let the bluesy and country tinged songs like Jigsaw Puzzle, Dear Doctor Factory Girl and the Stones heard at their best.

BEGGARS BANQUET played to the Stones strengths The ironic leadoff Sympathy For The Devil led many rockbaiters to conclude that singer Mick Jagger actually was the devil or at least a satanic follower Many of the other tracks particularly the hit Street Fighting Man highlighted the solid rhythm section interplay of Wyman and Watts while Jones contributed a typically downhome slide guitar part to No Expectations and the writing team of Richards and Jagger summoned up images of their deep blues roots.
