Jarrett plays primarily jazz standards and traditional songs, and, uncharacteristically, only one improvisation . Some of the tunes are presented in fairly direct melodic fashion, their impact tracing to the emotionally arching quality Jarrett imparts to each phrase. Others are vividly rhapsodic.

Originally released at the end of 1999 this was one of the best-selling jazz instrumental albums of the 2000s.
