2016 EU reissue on 180g LP-1968's We're Only In It for the Money is the 3rd studio album by Zappa And The Mothers Of Invention. As with the band's previous two outings, it's a conceptual affair which satirizes politics, particularly the hippie subculture, as well as The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper. It was conceived as part of a project called No Commercial Potential, which produced three other albums: Lumpy Gravy, Cruising with Ruben & the Jets and Uncle Meat.
The 18-track outsider masterpiece encompasses rock, orchestral and experimental music with aplomb, and stands as one of Zappa's greatest achievements. The album was ranked number 297 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in 2015.
